She Was Born to Live — But Now She’s Fighting to Survive
My name is Darshan Harshad Vyas, and I write this not just as a father, but as a man who is trying everything in his power to save his newborn daughter’s life.On 7th June 2025, my wife Jyoti gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. At the hospital, she is known as “Baby Girl of Jyoti Vyas.” Just weeks old, she’s already battling a condition no child should ever have to face.
Our daughter has been diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening genetic disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (Type 1). This disease attacks the muscles responsible for breathing, moving, and even swallowing. Each breath is a struggle, each hour is critical.
🏥 She’s Being Treated in Kolkata — And Time Is Running Out
Right now, she’s under constant medical care at a leading specialty hospital in Kolkata, where doctors are doing everything they can to stabilize her fragile body. But only one treatment in the world can save her — a gene therapy called Zolgensma, which needs to be given before she turns 6 months old.The cost of this one-time life-saving injection is ₹4.7 crore (₹47,000,000).
We are a simple, middle-class family. I am the sole breadwinner, and we’ve already exhausted all our savings. Despite selling what we had and borrowing wherever we could, we are nowhere near the amount needed.
💔 A Parent’s Plea
We watch her every day — hooked up to machines, struggling just to stay alive — and all we can do is pray and fight.
She hasn’t smiled yet. She hasn’t opened her eyes to the world outside the hospital walls. But she’s holding on, and we are too. And now, we’re asking you to hold on with us.
🙏 How You Can Help
Donate whatever you can — ₹100, ₹500, ₹1,000 — every rupee takes us closer to saving her.
Share this story with everyone you know — your forward could reach someone who can change everything.
Pray for our baby girl — your thoughts and blessings are powerful.
With your help, we believe our daughter will get a second chance at life. She deserves to see her first birthday, take her first steps, and grow up surrounded by love — not hospital walls.
Please help us bring her home, healthy and alive.
With folded hands,
Darshan & Jyoti Vyas
